Clinton Still Dominates Email Marketing Volume

eDataSource analyzes Hillary Clinton’s and Donald Trump’s email marketing activity from September 5 to September 16.

According to recent data from eDataSource, Hillary Clinton’s total send volume is nearly eight times that of Donald Trump’s. Indeed, when comparing the two candidates’ email send volume from September 5 to September 16, Clinton sent 153 million messages from the domain HillaryClinton.com while Trump deployed 19.2 million from DonaldTrump.com. Clinton also sent 537 email campaigns versus Trump’s 82.

However, DonaldTrump.com isn’t the only domain the Republican candidate is leveraging. According to eDataSource, Trump also sent 42.1 million emails from gopteam.gop and 196,000 from ChrisChristie.com—bringing his grand send volume total to approximately 61.5 million. eDataSource attributes Trump’s use of multiple domains to previous spam issues. And while the email marketing analytics provider says these issues seem to have been resolved, it looks like Trump’s spam woes aren’t completely behind him. While DonaldTrump.com has an inbox delivery range of 59 to 95%, according to eDataSource, gopteam.gop has an 8% to 60% inbox rate and ChrisChristie.com has a 0% to 36% rate. Clinton’s inbox range falls between 84% and 88%.

Clinton also surpassed Trump when it comes to largest projected reach. According to eDataSource, Clinton’s email reached 21 million subscribers over the analyzed time period. Trump reached approximately 5.9 million when combining the projected reach from all three domains.

However, Trump does take lead when it comes to read rates. When comparing DonaldTrump.com to HillaryClinton.com, Trump edges in front of Hillary by 2% (17% versus 15%, respectively). Gopteam.gop has an 11% read rate while ChrisChristie.com has a 12% read rate.
