We can’t recall a moment when it wasn’t a marketing staple, but still, it’s high time to eliminate the redundant free gift. We’ll even go so far as to say that there ought to be a law—and damn if there isn’t one in Finland—against its use. But pleonastic cringe-worthiness aside, free gift can trigger email spam filters.
