Redcats To Standardize Search Across 21 Int’l Sites

Multichannel merchant Redcats will expand its use of Progress EasyAsk advanced search, navigation and dynamic merchandising technology across 21 international e-commerce Web sites, Bedford, MA-based Progress Software Corp. said yesterday.

Redcats will use the EasyAsk product as its standard search functionality and customer interface across all of its sites in the U.S., United Kingdom and France, which are visited by approximately 15 million unique visitors each month.

Through a unified architecture, also known as its Millena Platform, Redcats expects to increase efficiency and leverage e-commerce best practices across these Web sites.

Redcats offers 17 brands across 26 countries, including Chadwick’s, Lerner Catalog, La Redoute, Empire, Jessica London, Ellos and Roaman’s.

Redcats USA originally deployed the EasyAsk product in 2003. The recent decision to standardize its international sites using EasyAsk is based on the product’s proven success and multi-lingual linguistic search, including French, Dutch, Portuguese, Spanish and German, Progress said in a statement.
