Pace Communications launches Internet services unit

Custom publishing company Pace Communications recently expanded its organization with the creation of Pace Interactive, an Internet services division.

The new division is the result of Pace Communications’ acquisition of Pixels Inc., a North Carolina-based Web services agency. The Greensboro, NC-based publisher launched its latest initiative as part of a continued plan to grow its new media outreach.

Pace Communications had been producing Web sites for its clients, including Epic Online for outdoor retailer The North Face.

The new division allows Pace Communications to offer services such as Web design and development, search-engine marketing, Web hosting and interactive marketing consulting.

With Pace Interactive, the custom publisher unveils a new wave of digital custom publishing, including Internet-only content for its in-flight publication division.

Pixels had previously worked with the custom publisher on a project-by-project basis. Past projects include United Hemispheres, Delta Sky and US Airways Magazine.

Joe Michel will head the new Pace Interactive division as managing director.
