Moya Greene May Take Over Top Spot at Canada Post

Moya Greene has been nominated to become president/CEO of Canada Post.

The proposed appointment will be referred to the House of Commons Standing Committee on Government Operations and Estimates for review, which could take 30 days.

If approved, Greene will replace Andre Ouellet, who left office last summer after Canada Post was linked to a sponsorship scandal. Ouellet was suspended with pay in February 2004 after Auditor General Sheila Fraser said Canada Post was one of several state-owned companies that paid Quebec-based advertising companies millions of dollars in commissions for doing little or no work.

John McCallum, the minister responsible for Canada Post, announced the proposed appointment.

Canada Post has 70,000 workers and handles 10 billion pieces of mail annually.
