Mailing Industry Mourns MASA's Huse

Robert M. Huse, the retired president of the Mail Advertising Service Association, Alexandria, VA, died at his home in Annapolis, MD, July 25 after an illness.

Huse served as MASA's chief staff officer for 24 years prior to his retirement in 1988. Shortly after his retirement, MASA, the trade association that represents the direct marketing industry's printers and service bureaus, honored him with the Robert M. Huse Chapter Achievement, which is presented annually for outstanding achievement by a MASA chapter.

Before joining MASA, Huse oversaw customer relations for the old Post Office Department, which later became the U.S. Postal Service. Huse, who was also a newspaper reporter and aide to Sen. Edmund S. Muskie (D-ME), was a World War II veteran and graduate of the Boston University School of Journalism.

Huse is survived by his wife, Marylou, four daughters and their families, including seven grandchildren.
