NEW YORK — A key initiative this year for the Direct Marketing Association's List and Database Council is to reach out to advertising agencies to improve their relationships with list firms, according to a member of the council's operating committee.
This was only one topic of discussion yesterday at the third annual open meeting of the council's operating committee during List Vision 2004 at the Waldorf-Astoria.
“We will meet with advertising agencies to try to better understand how we can work together to the benefit of all of us,” said Linda Huntoon, committee chair and executive vice president of Direct Media Inc.
The first meeting between the council and agencies is tentatively set for Nov. 9, said programming chair Karen Isenberg, senior marketing services director at ClientLogic Specialists Marketing Services.
An attendee suggested that a similar meeting with printers and lettershops also would benefit the industry.
Huntoon encouraged attendees to visit the list industry chat group available as a listserv on the DMA's Web site.
