Lands' End to Build Multi-purpose FacilityLands’ End to Build New Satellite Branch

Lands’ End Inc., Dodgeville, WI, said yesterday that it intends to begin construction this summer of a new 200,000-square-foot facility for its corporate sales business-to-business division. The satellite branch will be located in Stevens Point, WI, and house a call center, management offices, production, design and warehouse space.

The state of Wisconsin, Portage County, and the city of Stevens Point have offered infrastructure assistance and financing for the construction of the site, which is expected to be completed by late summer 2001, in time for the holiday season that year.

Initially, the site will employ approximately 100 full- and part-time employees, which is expected to increase to 1,000 during the next five years.

The company, which employs slightly less than 8,000 employees, announced plans last week to expand its e-commerce initiative in the BTB arena.
