IBM Lands British Telecom Initiative

British Telecommunications, London, has invested $8 million in the first phase of a business intelligence initiative based on IBM’s NUMA-Q servers, IBM said earlier this month.

When the implementation is completed, IBM said it will be one of the largest data warehouses in the world with more than 13 terabytes of storage capacity. The data warehouse will include a fully integrated e-marketing software suite from Prime Response. That suite, in conjunction with the IBM solution and supported by an Oracle database, will enable BT to improve current campaigns through automation, allow more event-driven and opportunistic marketing and facilitate coordinated multichannel delivery.
