Golf Society to Provide Content for AOL Sports Channel

America Online has reached an agreement with the Golf Society of the United States in which the organization will provide golf-related content to the AOL Sports Channel.

Under the agreement, a co-branded version of the Golf Society site will be made available within 60 days through the main golf page on AOL's Sports Channel.

The agreement will also provide AOL's more than 27 million members with a range of content produced by the Golf Society, such as weekly columns, golf videos, online swing analysis and golf products from its Golf Society Player Magazine.

Through its exposure on AOL, Golf Society officials said the association hopes to generate added revenue by increasing its membership, forming new sponsorships and increasing product sales at its online Pro Shop.

“We are happy to provide content to AOL's high-traffic pages,” said Frederick Stodolak, divisional president of the Golf Society.

Jim Brady, AOL's director of sports programming, said, “Golf continues to increase in popularity, and the Golf Society is a great addition to our golf pages and to Sports Channel as a whole.”
