Eloqua adds social positions to business-driving marketing team
Eloqua, a Washington, DC-based marketing software company,credits its marketing team for driving a large portion of this growth, including sourcing 60% of new business in 2010.
The company has five marketing-related departments that report to CMO Brian Kardon. His direct reports include the VP for demand generation, and directors of content, Web, product marketing and marketing operations.
The VP of demand generation oversees various stages of the prospect recruitment business, as well as field marketing and partner marketing. The director of marketing operations oversees the database, teleprospecting and operations departments.
“Eloqua’s marketing organization is largely designed around buyer stages in the funnel,” said Kardon, the former chief strategy and marketing officer at Forrester Research. With that in mind, Eloqua hired a “corporate reporter” to manage social media. That position reports to the director of content. A director of product marketing oversees products and competitive intelligence, while a web director manages designers.
