Valerie Jennings first founded JSMM+VBM in 2003 when she was just 24 years old.
Proudest career accomplishment to date?
As an early adopter of social media, I founded my first agency, Jennings Social Media Marketing (JSMM) at the age of 24. In the course of 15 years, I’ve grown that agency to include Viral Bolt Media (VBM) and expanded two satellite offices in South Beach, FL and Irvine, CA. I am proud to provide mentorship and career opportunities for deserving and skilled candidates in the local community.
What’s your best piece of advice for 40Under40 honorees?
My best piece of advice for DMN 40Under40 honorees is to continue learning every day. Follow your passion and never give up – success doesn’t happen overnight and there will most definitely be bumps in the road, but the journey is absolutely worth it.
What do you hope to accomplish in the next five years?
JSMM+VBM plans to open offices in international markets in the near future. Expanding services and increasing volume of international clients is necessary to keep up with the demands of the changing landscape of digital marketing and MarTech. Agencies need to continue to grow and adapt to be successful.
Name one interesting fact about you that few people know.
Many people in the industry may not know that I love to play music and sing. I take guitar and vocal lessons, and perform on stage at a music school. I find that daily exposure to music fosters growth in creativity and challenges me on a personal level, as well.
