What’s in our mailbox this month: Nonprofit

Trashbin

A lack of any calls to action sends this Smithsonian mailer straight to the recycling pile. Inside it only gets worse, as the Washington, DC, institution offers a “senior” discount to the 31-year-old resident.

Passing Grade

New York‘s Citymeals-on-Wheels charity’s use of variable data printing adds appeal to a plain envelope. It would have improved the piece by using the fun Thanksgiving imagery from the inside on the outside too.

Right Track

The colors and smiling faces of this Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure trifold got us thinking about breaking out the running shoes. The inside form is crowded but a race day schedule and map kept our interest.

Bright Idea

A plain No. 10 envelope often seems the hallmark of nonprofit mail, but Amnesty International steps it up with a multidimensional piece, free gift and a clear call to donate on the inside.
