Who it is: David Berkowitz, appointed CMO of MRY, a creative and technology agency

What’s his role: Berkowitz will oversee marketing operations and strategies across the agency.

Where was he prior: Berkowitz was previously VP of emerging media at 360i, a digital marketing agency. Prior to 360i, Berkowitz served as director of marketing at Viewpoint Corporation.

Why was he appointed: “David has a proven track record of seeing what’s just around the corner and creatively applying it for the world’s leading brands for more than a decade; in addition to being a riveting thought leader with a standout industry pedigree, there is no doubt that he will raise the bar for our team and our client partners,” said Matt Britton, CEO of MRY.

Who it is: Eric Bader, appointed CMO of RadiumOne, a multichannel advertising company

What’s his role: Bader will oversee brand development, strategic partnerships, and all marketing-related activities.

Where was he prior: Prior to RadiumOne, Bader served as global president and chief strategy officer at Initiative, a global network within the Mediabrands unit of Interpublic Group. He was also president and cofounder of BrandInHand, a mobile marketing company.

Why was he appointed: “Eric is a respected leader who I’ve had the benefit of knowing for many years as a member of our advisory board, and I’m delighted to welcome him to the RadiumOne team,” said Gurbaksh Chahal, CEO & founder of RadiumOne. “He has the ideal combination of adtech smarts and agency credibility, coupled with one of the sharpest strategic marketing minds I know. Who it is: Jenny Ashmore, appointed CMO of SSE, an energy supplier company

What’s her role: Ashmore will be responsible for all of SSE’s marketing activities.

Where was she prior: Ashmore worked in brand management with senior leadership roles in Procter & Gamble, Mars Inc., and Yell.

Why was she appointed: “I am delighted that Jenny is joining SSE at this exciting time,” said Will Morris, Group Managing Director of SSE. “Jenny brings with her a wealth of expertise in marketing and brand management that will add real depth to our already highly capable team.”

Who it is: Alan Batey, appointed Senior VP at Global Chevrolet

What’s his role: Batey will oversee accounts for more than half of General Motors’ sales worldwide, and will serve as the head of U.S. sales, service, and marketing for Chevrolet, Buick, and GMC. 

Where was he prior: Batey had been VP of U.S. Sales, Service, and Marketing and interim global CMO at Global Chevrolet.

Why was he appointed: “Alan Batey has worked in markets all over the world, has demonstrated the ability to deliver great business results and understands how to balance global brand consistency while maintaining the local voice of the customer,” said Dan Akerson, Chairman and CEO of GM.
