The board of the John Caples International Awards has unanimously agreed to partner with DMNews‘ parent company, Haymarket Media, to manage the global annual awards, which celebrate direct response and interactive creative across all media.
The board’s decision to seek a partner was initiated by the program’s late founder, Andi Emerson, three years ago, said Patrick Fultz, president and COO of the Caples board. The process was led by G2 Direct & Digital chairman and CEO Larry Kimmel, and a core group comprising Emerson; Fultz; Duncan Gray, executive creative director of Proximity London; and Ian Baer, president of Big Fuel Communications.
“Haymarket shows a clear commitment to taking Caples to what we’re affectionately calling ‘Caples 2.0,’” said Fultz. “The company was clearly keen to really celebrate what’s happening in creativity, and has the resources to build the community even stronger.”
Haymarket Media runs numerous awards programs aligned with its other titles, and will collaborate closely with the Caples board.
“The Caples program is unique in the DM industry because it rewards the creative community for its outstanding contribution,” said Lisa Kirk, president, Haymarket Media and publishing director, DMNews. “A commitment to, and passion for creativity runs through all of Haymarket’s titles, and we are keen to preserve the high standards of creative competition that the Caples have achieved for so long.”
