AOL, Target Debut Co-Branded CD-ROMs

Target Corp. and America Online Inc. said yesterday they have launched a co-marketing agreement designed to push Target customers to a co-branded version of AOL’s Internet service.

The companies will distribute CD-ROMs featuring the special version of AOL’s services at the more than 900 Target stores nationwide. The packaging will include the logos of both companies.

AOL members who subscribe through the special CD-ROM will receive a 10 percent discount on merchandise purchased from Target’s Web site for up to a year.

This is the second phase of the agreement, which was announced in June. Earlier this year the companies linked their Web sites as part of the alliance.
