Agency Head Patrick Lemarchand Passes Away

Flavie Lemarchand-Wood writes to tell us of the passing of her father, Patrick Lemarchand, a leading executive at Havas, and an avid DMN reader:

Patrick Lemarchand died on June 27, 2018 in Naples, Florida at the age of 69.

Born in Rouen, France to Christian Lemarchand and Suzanne Guellain, he received a degree from Ecole des Cadres du Commerce et des Affaires Economiques in Paris, France. He went on to work in the U.S., France, Canada, and Japan.  Highly creative and results-driven, Patrick rose quickly to leadership positions at a very young age and spent 35 years in strategic management, M&A, operations, and marketing in the direct marketing, publishing, and communication industries.

He was the Chairman and CEO of Atlas Editions and sat on the De Agostini Board of Directors. He was also the Chairman and CEO of the North American operations of Havas Advertising’s Diversified Agencies Group and a senior advisor to David Shepard Associates.

Early in his career, Patrick was a Vice President at Reeves Communications Corporation, which produced television shows such as Kate & Allie.

He was incredibly devoted to his family and is survived by the love of his life, Mireille, to whom he was married for over 50 years. He will be missed by his daughters, Flavie Lemarchand-Wood and Gaelle Dudley; his sons-in-law, Paul Wood and Alex Dudley; and his grandchildren, Lauren, Hayden, Jack, Roan and Claire; and his beloved Frenchie, Hugo.  Services will be held on Saturday, June 30 at St. Mary’s Church in Greenwich, CT at 10am. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Memorial Sloan Kettering or the African Wildlife Foundation in his name.
