Wunderman acquires Asian agency Agenda

Expanding its Asian footprint by more than 40%, Wunderman has acquired digital agency Agenda.

With offices in Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Taiwan and Kuala Lumpur, Agenda will provide Wunderman with online strategy, Web development and management, online advertising, online media, and Web analytic capabilities and resources for its clients across the region. Agenda’s clients include Pepsi, Prudential, Citibank, Carrefour, Johnson & Johnson and Microsoft.

The acquisition fits into the agency’s long-term strategic plan by reinforcing its digital capabilities, especially in the expanding China market, according to a statement from the company.

Agenda took home a gold award in Asia’s inaugural Digital Media Awards in 2007 for its Pepsi Creative Challenge II “I Want to Go on Can” campaign. The campaign appealed to China’s youth to become the face of Pepsi by using online advertising, buzz, word of mouth, events, TV advertising and other promotional activity to generate 2.5 million submissions.

Agenda will keep its name and management team in place.

Wunderman is a division of WPP’s network and a member of Young and Rubicam brands.
