Uni-Mail Offers Data Card System

Uni-Mail List Brokerage and Management has made its Cards for Windows data card system available to outside list firms.

“We consider it to be much more of a marketing tool than other systems out there,” said Mike Bryant, president of Uni-Mail, New York. “It allows you to get into much finer levels of data, specifically, product selections and subsets of products.”

The data card system was developed inhouse at Uni-Mail about 12 years ago for internal use by list brokers and managers. In 1995, Uni-Mail licensed Cards for Windows to one firm, Adrea Rubin Marketing Inc.

“Uni-Mail's Cards for Windows is the thinking broker's system,” said Adrea Rubin, CEO of Adrea Rubin Marketing, New York. “By far, Uni-Mail's Cards for Windows — the system we've been on since 1995 — surpasses any other query system that I've ever used.”

With more than 25 years in the industry, Rubin has used several data card systems in the past.

After a major upgrade three years ago, Uni-Mail initiated plans to market the system within the entire list industry, Bryant said.

“We've spent a very large amount of money, and we see this as an opportunity to offer a superior product and make a little money at the same time,” he said.

Cards for Windows contains more than 20,000 data cards for consumer and fundraising files. Data cards in the system contain information such as subject, category, selects, demographic data, average unit of sale, list type, source and parent company. The system allows searches to be conducted by list name, list code, list manager, family, standard industrial classification code, subject and others.

Also, the query feature allows brokers to type in criteria for specific clients to locate new lists.
