Actress Julia Roberts yesterday gained control of an Internet domain named after her following a decision from an international arbitration panel of the World Intellectual Property Organization.
The United Nations agency ruled that Russell Boyd, who had registered www.juliaroberts.com, had no legitimate interest in the domain name and had used it in bad faith.
Boyd earlier had registered names of many well-known sports and movie personalities and had tried to auction Roberts' Web address on eBay.com.
The decision should assist other famous individuals by quickly resolving disputes over cyber-squatting.
