The most searched for TV shows of the fall season

For the week ending Oct. 14 this year, the most searched television shows of the fall season were Dancing with the Stars and Scrubs, according to a Lycos study.

The Waltham, MA, researcher said that television shows creating the most buzz on the Internet are not necessarily shows that reach the most viewers.

According to the Nielsen ratings, the most popular prime-time television shows of the 2006-07 season are:
1. Grey’s Anatomy
2. CSI
3. Desperate Housewives
4. Dancing With the Stars
5. CSI: Miami
6. Lost
7. CSI: NY
8. Criminal Minds
9. Without a Trace
10. Ugly Betty

According to the Lycos 50, the most popular prime-time television shows with Web users for the week ending Oct. 14 are:
1. Scrubs
2. Dancing with the Stars
3. Lost
4. CSI
5. Veronica Mars
6. Smallville
7. Heroes
8. Desperate Housewives
9. Survivor
10. The Office

In addition, NBC’s new show, Heroes, is the most popular new program with Internet users. On the other hand, ABC’s Ugly Betty is the most popular with Nielsen viewers.
