The Humor Network Changes Name to OptaNetwork

E-mail marketing firm The Humor Network has changed its name to OptaNetwork to reflect its growth beyond humor into other areas of e-mail marketing and technology, CEO Eric Targan said.

The company is looking to strike partnerships with firms interested in using its e-mail publishing technology, OptaMAIL, Targan said. His firm is also offering a service called Email Monetization Engine, which is designed to maximize revenue from e-mail. In addition, the e-mail marketing firm offers wireless e-mail distribution capabilities to target consumers during their downtime.

The Humor Network and its flagship site, Joke-Of-The-Day.com, have more than 1.7 million subscribers who receive the firm's daily run of e-mail jokes containing ads. The firm also offers interest-specific joke clubs and Web sites such as Farmjokes.com, Collegejokes.com, Sportsjokes.com, Rudyjokes.com and Hillaryjokes.com.
