Survey: 77% Read Insurance Direct Mail in Past Week

A Webcraft survey released this month found that 77 percent of 2,000 randomly selected people had read direct mail concerning insurance during the past seven days.

Webcraft conducted the survey, done with financial and insurance direct marketers in mind, via telephone during April and May. The 44-question survey showed that 65 percent had read other kinds of direct mail during the past seven days.

It also showed that 49 percent used at least two credit cards each month and that 43 percent had read financial-oriented direct mail. In addition, people ages 37 to 55 are the best-covered generation among the 75 percent of adults who have life insurance, the survey found.

Webcraft, part of Baltimore-based Vertis Inc., said it used 12 direct marketing companies to tailor the survey.
