San Loco multichannel promo boasts 20-cent tacos

New York City taco chain San Loco is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a May 20 multichannel promotion to drive consumers to its restaurants.

San Loco’s promotion, featured at www.sanloco.com, offers consumers the opportunity to print coupons for 20-cent tacos that normally cost between $2 and $3.

“The whole objective of this campaign is to thank our existing customers for 20 years of patronage and to bring new customers into the restaurants,” said Natalie Duckoff, spokeswoman for San Loco. “We believe that once they taste our food we have gained a customer that will come back again and again.”

San Loco has been using banner ads and ad placement in newsletters and on NY-centric deal, food and lifestyle Web sites. The promotion includes an e-mail marketing campaign for San Loco’s customers.

San Loco has three locations in Manhattan and recently opened a restaurant in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

The 20-cent promotional menu is limited to hard-shell beef and bean-and-rice tacos. The full menu offers burritos, slow-simmered chipotle chicken, pork pipian and guacamole.

The campaign, aimed at New Yorkers, focuses on students and hipsters, according to Ms. Duckoff.
