Roadway Expands from Trucking Shipping to Airfreight

Roadway Express Inc., a leading less-than-truckload freight carrier owned by Roadway Corp., has branched off into the airfreight business with the debut of Roadway Air.

The new freight-forwarding service by the Akron, OH, firm will offer time- and day-definite delivery services. It will offer door-to-door service via a toll-free number to the Roadway Air Forwarding Center in the United States and Puerto Rico.

Customers can also schedule shipments through the Web on my.roadway.com.

Roadway Air is supported by Integres Global Logistics, a consortium of passenger and cargo carriers in the United States. The Integres network has at its disposal 3,000 airplanes, more than 12,000 daily departures, 40,000-plus trailers and works with nearly 400 terminals.
