Mail and document management services provider Pitney Bowes recently introduced an e-mail change of address service for large corporations' information technology departments.
The service, called emailAngel, is an address correction and forwarding service that large corporations can use to keep their internal and customer e-mail databases up-to-date by comparing old addresses to new ones. Pitney Bowes said the service works with virtually any e-mail system.
Pitney Bowes' emailAngel service is similar to ReturnPath Veripost's change of address service, in that it forwards e-mail to updated addresses.
The email Angel service was developed by Pitney Bowes' docSense division. The service is being positioned as an add-on service for postal service organizations. Consumers can sign up for the service at www.emailangel.com. They can register up to six old e-mail addresses, along with their current one, and have an unlimited amount of e-mail forwarded to their new e-mail address.
