“AI is only empowered by the data you have,” BEN’s CEO Ricky Ray Butler tells Chris Wood in their recent sit-down. Since his days founding Plaid Social Labs (which was purchased by BEN), Butler has amassed a great store of data and experience in branded entertainment. He explains why he thinks machine learning is the best way for humans to capitalize on all the undiscovered “unstructured” opportunities that exist in the future of content-driven advertising, and how currently AI is helping humans to mow down the army of increasingly-sophisticated “cyborg bots” out there to ruin a brand’s metrics and reputation. For Butler, as with author William Gibson, the future is already here.
