The number of U.S. households with Internet access through digital devices other than personal computers grew 12 percent from April to July, according to Media Metrix, New York.
As of July, 7.4 million U.S. households owned Internet-accessible devices, compared with 6.6 million in April.
Wireless phones were the largest area of growth among non-PC Internet products.
