MBNA America Bank signed a deal with Shopforschool, an Internet direct marketer, to offer a credit card that will enable consumers to assist the grade school or high school of their choice.
A percentage of purchases made using the Shopforschool Platinum Plus MasterCard will be donated to the cardholder’s designated school.
Shopforschool, Minneapolis, is enrolling preferred merchants in the program. Those merchants will be required to provide cardholders with rebates of up to 10 percent on all purchases made with the Shopforschool card. The card will be targeted to parents of school-age children nationwide.
