MailChimp debuts custom e-mail search engine

MailChimp has released a Google Custom Search Engine as a resource center for e-mail marketing research. The custom search engine combines sources on e-mail delivery and marketing trends from 24 blogs and Web sites.

Users can search on terms such as “spam filters” and receive results explaining the current challenges and solutions for successfully delivering e-mail.

The new resource library includes information about e-mail experience from MailChimp subscribers. This includes Mark Brownlow’s E-mail Marketing Reports Web site most Brownlow’s site features newsletters, articles, reviews and advice for e-mail marketers. E-mail Marketing Reports consists of more than 50 categories and a daily blog with an average of 1,900 posts.

Tamara Gielen, director of e-mail and digital dialogue strategies at OgilvyOne, will have her BeRelevant blog included as well. This blog includes e-mail marketing tips and tricks on topics such as building and maintaining an e-mail list, choosing an e-mail vendor, designing and coding e-mail newsletters, segmentation and targeting, lifecycle messaging, integrating e-mail marketing in the marketing mix and more. BeRelevant also features a social network club for e-mail marketers from all over the world.

Melinda Krueger, principal of Krueger Direct/Interactive, will also have her blog included in the search engine. She answers questions on e-mail trends such as comparing industry averages, improving open rates and creating a contact strategy
