KUSC Uses Emma E-Mail to Promote Classical Radio

Classical music radio station KUSC joined the ranks of New York University, M.I.T. and HGTV by tapping e-mail marketing firm Emma to stay in touch with its listener base.

KUSC, Los Angeles, wanted to tailor messages based on the varied tastes of its listeners. These e-mails target listeners based on a user preference profile within the radio station’s diverse listener base.

With its new client, Emma, Nashville, has reached it 5,000th customer mark.

The Web-based service currently works with a roster of clients in the United States, Britain, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Emma currently powers e-mails for KOA Kampgrounds, YoungLife, Car Talk from NPR, other small businesses, nonprofits and agencies.

The e-mail marketing firm recently hired Bo Spessard as the company’s director of operations to oversee an expansion to be completed this fall.
