Jeff Smith Tapped as LiveRamp CMO

Jeff Smith, who most recently served as EVP and chief solutions marketing officer at Nielsen, has been named CMO of Acxiom’s LiveRamp unit.

Smith has spent 20 years in information-based industries, holding leadership positions in sales, marketing, product development, and general management. Prior to joining Nielsen in 2012, he was CMO of Vizu, VP sales and marketing at Keibi Technologies, and VP Marketing of Instill Corp. He cut his teeth in the industry first as a consultant at Ernst & Young and then in product management at Oracle.

“Jeff brings vital skills we need to scale in the face of explosive market growth,” LiveRamp President and GM Travis May said in a press release. “We’ve tripled our revenue run rate to more than $100 million over the last 18 months, and we’re just getting started. A much bigger opportunity lies ahead.”

Acxiom acquired LiveRamp, a customer data onboarding service, in 2014 to expand the reach of its own customer data into retail, financial services, and entertainment brands.
