G2 acquires CRM agency in India

G2 Worldwide, a marketing services company and division of WPP Group, continues its expansion with the recently announced deal to acquire a majority stake in Chateux Hospitality Pvt. Ltd, one of India’s leading CRM companies.

G2 is pursuing a strategic goal of creating an end-to-end agency model capable of delivering both channel and consumer insights on a global scale, making it “unlike any other agency in the marketplace,” said Joe Celia, global chairman and CEO at G2, in a statement.

As such, the agency is “committed to deepening G2’s position as a global activation communications leader” and is “making progress with both [its] acquisitions and client growth in this area,” Celia said.

The marketing for activation marketing services in India is growing exponentially, according to Nirvik Singh, CEO and chairman at G2, Asia Pacific and South Asia chairman and Southeast Asia president of Grey Group, in the statement. G2’s stated goal is to deepen its specialized marketing services capabilities in direct marketing, branding and design, event management, interactive and shopper marketing across Asia.

Chateux Hospitality, which operates in India under the Rams brand name, is one of the few players of scale in a highly fragmented market, according to G2. This acquisition will cement G2 India’s position as a real player in providing total, integrated solutions.

Chateaux Hospitality was founded in 1998 and is based in Gurgoan, with offices in Mumbai and Bangalore. Clients include American Express, GE, GlaxoSmithKline, AIG, Nestle, Eli Lilly, HP India, and Hero Honda.

Last year, G2 acquired Refinery, a leading independent digital shop in North America and Star Echo, an agency in China.
