Direct Media Inc. introduced the BTB Data Warehouse Consortium cooperative database Friday. The database is an alliance of list brokerage firms aimed at improving business-to-business prospecting.
Partnering with Direct Media in the consortium are Paradysz Matera, American List Counsel and the new brokerage firm started last week by Chad Slater, Integrated Direct Marketing.
Direct Media developed the first cooperative database for business-to-business mailers in the early 1990s for seminar, merchandise and publishing mailers in the BTB arena.
Through the consortium, the database will expand to include other BTB mailers such as financial institutions and software companies, according to Direct Media.
The database currently contains 900 lists, 122 million gross names and 78 million net names. It is housed at Acxiom and enhanced with D&B data.
“By pooling Direct Media's BTB database experience and technologies together with the list industry's most dynamic marketing minds, the Consortium has in place the single best prospecting platform for efficient expansion in the recovering BTB economic environment,” said Direct Media chairman/CEO David W. Florence.
