DiGioia Promoted to Associate Publisher

DM News has promoted Robert DiGioia to associate publisher of its print and online editions.

Mr. DiGioia, who has worked on DM News for six years as a marketing and sales executive, previously held similar sales and marketing positions at the Connecticut Post and the New Haven Register.

Founder and publisher Adrian Courtenay said Mr. DiGioia was selected for the new position because of his track record at DM News and his popularity in the marketplace. He also has extensive knowledge not only of print, but also of the emerging online channels that are catching on rapidly with DM News readers and advertisers.

In addition to managing and training advertising salespeople, Mr. DiGioia will remain in charge of the company’s promotional efforts and participation in industry trade shows and events.

His appointment coincides with the hiring of four writers on the DM News staff and the relaunch of the site at www.DMNews.com. These additions reflect the company’s commitment to staying ahead of the curve and reporting accurately on the profound changes occurring in direct, database and interactive marketing.

The weekly DM News newspaper reaches a BPA-audited circulation of 50,300 qualified recipients. The print portfolio also includes magazine supplements on lists and database marketing, e-mail marketing, search marketing, DRTV, delivery and an annual sector-by-sector forecast.

But in recent years, the DM News brand has extended beyond the print product to include a robust site and a blog that attracts 25,000 visitors weekly. The franchise also includes seven online newsletters covering e-mail marketing, search marketing, database marketing, DRTV, hot mailing lists of the day, whitepapers of the day and a daily newsletter that is highly quoted by news aggregators.
