Consolidated Graphics picks up another regional printer

Commercial printing company Consolidated Graphics Inc. continues its buying spree of regional commercial printers. On Friday, it signed a letter of intent to acquire Hopkins Printing Inc., located in Columbus, OH.

Over the past year, Consolidated Graphics, Houston, has acquired a handful of regional printers across North America, including Global Group Inc., Fort Worth, TX; The Hennegan Company, Florence, KY; Nies/Artcraft Companies, St. Louis; and Annan & Bird Lithographers Ltd., Mississauga, Ontario. This gives Consolidated Graphics 68 printing facilities and 12 fulfillment centers across 27 states and Canada.

Hopkins Printing was founded in 1976. It is one of the leading sheet-fed and digital commercial printers serving the central Ohio market. The 75,000-square-foot facility located nearby the Columbus International Airport also offers ancillary services such as mailing and fulfillment.

The deal is expected to close within the next 90 days.

Hopkins Printing’s present management team, led by president Jim Hopkins, will remain with the company following its completion
