Compaq to Resell Actional Integration Software

Actional Corp., a provider of direct-connect integration solutions for e-business, announced that it signed a three-year reseller partnership agreement with Compaq Computer Corp.

Compaq, Houston, will resell Actional's integration software, Actional Control Brokers, as the adapter of the Compaq Zero Latency Enterprise.

The agreement will also allow the companies to provide zero-latency connectivity between the Compaq ZLE solution and applications that reside on multiple platforms in the customer's business environment.

“The agreement has the opportunity to introduce us to a very large audience,” said Michelle Soleau, vice president of marketing at Actional.

Actional, Mountain View, CA, has about 55 customers using its ACB system. They include large corporations across several industries, including telecommunications, utilities and financial services.

Compaq's ZLE initiative allows customers to select from several software and hardware options while ensuring guaranteed availability and uptime via specific components that reside and run on the server and database. That server and database system will include features such as message transformation, work flow, routing, data transformation, data mining and analytics. It also offers a transaction-oriented solution providing a single, integrated view of business and customer transactions as they occur, no matter where they occur, in real time.

ACB is an integration software designed for real-time integration of market-facing e-business. By teaming with Compaq, it will allow users to integrate applications to the ZLE hub, leveraging a customer's investment in the ZLE solution. ACB can connect a back-end system with a front-end system without using middleware.
