CMS, Prefer Network Partner on Database

BOSTON — Service bureau Catalog Marketing Services and cooperative database firm Prefer Network are forming a strategic alliance to build and maintain the second release of the Prefer Network catalog database.

The alliance was announced yesterday at the Direct Marketing Association's 18th Annual Catalog Conference and Exhibition.

CMS, St. Paul, MN, and New York-based Prefer Network will team to provide modeling and analytical services to database participants. Also, CMS will provide list rental fulfillment for the database.

The firms claim the alliance will increase the amount of data available on the file while keeping costs low.

The Prefer Network database is an open co-op that consists of more than 90 catalogers such as Bloomingdale's By Mail, Delia's, Paul Frederick and Sundance.

The two firms also said a new database for Prefer Network co-op members will debut in July.
