Broadbase Software, Menlo Park, CA, a provider of e-commerce analytic and marketing infrastructure applications, this week signed a definitive agreement to acquire Aperio, Natick, MA, a provider of comprehensive e-commerce marketing solutions. Aperio works with Fortune 1000 companies to maximize the value of their marketing investment by designing and implementing BTB marketing strategies and more effectively managing customer lifecycles.
Under the agreement Broadbase will issue approximately 270,000 shares of its common stock in exchange for all the outstanding common stock of Aperio and will assume all outstanding options to purchase common stock of Aperio. The transaction, which is expected to close by May, will be accounted for as a purchase, and upon completion, Broadbase estimates it will have approximately 250 employees.
