BeautyRiot Technology Gets Makeover

BeautyRiot.com has released Instant Makeover II, an enhanced version of its software that lets online viewers test makeup products.

Viewers can upload digital photos to create online pictures that can be used whenever they visit the site. Users without digital photographs can choose from several model photographs the site offers.

Instant Makeover's upgrades include viewers being able to put items in their shopping carts while trying on makeup. They also can try on up to three shades of eye shadow at the same time, choose one of six eyeliner styles and design their own makeup varieties.

Instant Makeover is being targeted at cosmetics firms. The technology was designed for females age 12 to 32, although it is demographically skewed toward adolescents.

“Many times these are younger females either in a mood to play, learning how to put makeup on or wanting to try different looks,” said Jamie Sammons, executive producer at BeautyRiot.com, San Francisco. “This gives them the chance to find the right look and then make a purchase.”

Instant Makeover users also can try on lipstick, lip liner, blush, foundation, brow color, contacts, hair color and eyewear as well as view different hairstyles.
