Sprint Corp., Kansas City, MO, has introduced a business-to-business auction site targeted at firms needing to sell assets such as surplus or obsolete equipment.
The site, www.sprintbid.com, lets bidders search for items and manage their auction activities. Registered bidders can tailor their accounts by tracking specific lots of equipment.
Bidders can also specify their interest criteria and be notified via e-mail when items are added to the site. Sprint said it will usually add listings once a week.
The telecommunications giant said the types of assets offered for sale will cover both the technical and the operational side of a company, from fiber-optic transmission equipment to computers.
