Site Offers Grocery Distribution Education

Advanced Ergonomics Inc. has introduced an online training service designed to teach the industry fundamentals of grocery distribution.

The service entails a three-hour interactive course at www.advancedergonomics.com, and includes live chat with ergonomics instructors with doctorates. There is a $50 fee.

According to Advanced Ergonomics, the course will instruct viewers in areas such as rack design, rack steps, pallet rotation, cube guidelines, case weight guidelines, fork truck design and floor maintenance.

In addition, the course will address two questions: Why should a distribution center have an ergonomics team? What can a distribution center do to reduce ergonomic issues that lead to injury?

“The course is designed to help individuals evaluate the status of their current ergonomics programs and provide guidance to make them more effective,” said Joe Selan, senior vice president of Advanced Ergonomics, Dallas.
