CADM Honors Michael Becker With Holmes Volunteer Award

The Chicago Association of Direct Marketing has named Michael Becker as the 11th recipient of the Natalie P. Holmes Volunteer of the Year award.

Becker is vice president of national sales at Mackay Envelope, Schaumburg, IL. He is also the 2003-04 chair of CADM's Chicago DM Days & Expo to be held April 21-22, 2004, at Chicago's Navy Pier.

“As chair of the 2003 conference, Mike motivated his committee to initiate program, promotional and price features that reversed the downward trend in attendance and resulted in … responses from exhibitors and attendees alike,” Holly Harle, president of CADM, said in a statement.

Becker began volunteering for the association in 1988, the year he entered direct marketing through employment at Transo Envelope Co. He volunteered at last year's Chicago DM Days to improve the on-site experience for exhibitors.

Key criteria for the award are a dedication to furthering the goals of CADM and its members, a high degree of professionalism, a track record of contribution and helping develop or implement association principles.

Harle, whose day job is account executive at Mid-America Mailers, will honor Becker Aug. 14 at CADM's 48th annual business and volunteer recognition luncheon at Chicago's 410 Club on North Michigan Avenue.

The Natalie P. Holmes Volunteer of the Year award was named for the association's former executive director who retired in 1992 after 20 years of service with the association.
