Sock subscription service reaches US

Swiss-company Blacksocks.com, which offers a yearly subscription service for men’s socks, has launched in North America.

For an annual subscription of $89, subscribers automatically receive three pairs of Italian-made socks every four months.

In addition to providing convenience, the price of an annual subscription “is less than [buying nine pairs of socks] at a department store or high-end men’s apparel retailer,” said Rosen, the managing partner and Blacksocks US and founder and president of PR firm The Rosen Group who is overseeing the US launch.

Initially, the US launch is being supported by PR efforts. The company will be looking to add interactive marketing, pay-per-click advertising and social networking strategies in the near future.
