Window Book Supports USPS Advanced Shipping Notice Provisions

Window Book Inc., Cambridge, MA, said yesterday that its DAT-MAIL and Post Master software products now support the U.S. Postal Service's Confirm program and its new advanced shipping notice provisions, which are being referred to in the industry as the “Start the Clock” program.

Confirm lets USPS customers check the status of letter-size mail and flats regardless of mail class electronically through Planet Code barcodes that track mailings as they move through the mail flow. The postal service introduced an upgraded version of Confirm last year that requires mailers and mail shops to electronically file advanced shipping notices. The notices provide mail shop customers with more detailed information, such as the date and time when a mailing arrived at the entry facility.

To mark the support of the shipping notice provisions, Window Book has renamed its advanced shipping notice module for DAT-MAIL and Post Master to the Confirm ASN/Start the Clock module.
