What does a brand advocate look like? (Hint: not what you’d expect)

Marketing automation platform StrongView recently conducted a Brand Loyalty Survey to identify the characteristics of a loyal brand customer. The survey had some interesting, and even counter-intuitive findings, such as:

– Age and high income have little effect on a person’s likelihood to be a loyal customer.

– While women are cited as greater drivers of commerce than men, there’s not a huge difference between the sexes when it comes to brand advocacy. 53% of identified brand advocates were women while 47% were men.

– When it came to identifying ethnicities, an overwhelming majority of brand enthusiasts were white (65%), followed by Hispanic (17%) and African-American (12%).
