Verint to Acquire KANA for $514 Million

Verint Systems today announced the signing of a definitive agreement to acquire KANA Software for approximately $514 million in cash.

KANA is a specialist in contact center CRM solutions for case management, email, and social media response that Verint will depend on to round out its customer intelligence and engagement businesses. “Our complementary solutions represent a comprehensive offering to help optimize customer engagement,” said Verint CEO Dan Bodner in a statement announcing the deal.

KANA will add some 900 additional clients to what Verint says is a global base of more than 10,000 customers. According to Verint, the enhanced company will allow them greater ability to capture and manage information from cross-functional customer interactions to quickly uncover behavioral patterns and trends, and react to them across multiple channels.

Verint expects to complete the acquisition in its first fiscal 2014 quarter ending April 30.
