USPS to Test New Biohazard Detection System

The U.S. Postal Service is expected to announce today that it soon will begin testing a new biohazard detection system designed to provide an early detection warning for anthrax.

These tests will occur at about 14 postal facilities nationwide.

These systems, to be tested for 30 days, will be in mail processing and distribution centers in Dulles in Virginia; southern Maryland; Albany, NY; Kilmer, NJ; Manasota, FL; St. Petersburg, FL; Tampa, FL; Midland, TX; Los Angeles; Tacoma, WA; Rockford, IL; Lancaster, PA; Cleveland and Pittsburgh.
