USPS to Name Task Force Steering Committee

The U.S. Postal Service today is expected to reveal the members of the steering committee for the Mailing Industry Task Force, which was announced at the spring National Postal Forum in Orlando, FL.

The Mailing Industry Task Force was set up to collect and analyze data on the competitive environment facing the mailing industry and develop recommendations for a course of action to grow new business.

An initial report will be presented to the mailing industry at the fall National Postal Forum in October in Denver.

The task force is composed of mailing industry leaders brought together to analyze the state of the industry and identify opportunities for future growth. The group is co-chaired by Deputy Postmaster General John Nolan and Michael Critelli, chairman/CEO of Pitney Bowes.

Expected to be appointed to the steering committee are:

Charles Morgan, company leader, Acxiom Crop.

Gary Mulloy, chairman/CEO, ADVO Inc.

Jonathan Linen, vice chairman, American Express.

Michael Sherman, president, Fingerhut.

Irvine Hockaday, president/CEO, Hallmark.

David Sable, president/CEO, Wunderman.

William Davis, chairman/president/CEO, R.R. Donnelly & Sons Co.

Thomas Siebel, chairman/CEO, Siebel Systems Inc.

Dr. Jerome Swartz, chairman/chief scientist, Symbol Technologies Inc.
