USPS Partners With CardStore.com

The U.S. Postal Service is partnering with CardStore.com, Emeryville, CA, an online card store, in an effort to improve the process of sending high-quality, personalized greeting cards, the agency announced yesterday.

Under the agreement, users visiting the NetPost CardStore at the USPS Web site at www.usps.com can create, personalize and send custom-printed cards in minutes. The solution is aimed at customers sending business-to-business and business-to-consumer greeting cards.

CardStore.com offers online card selection and personalization as well as next-day custom-printing and mail services. The USPS will promote the service and handle the delivery of cards from CardStore’s production facility to the recipient.

The solution is based on the USPS’ NetPost Mailing Online service, which allows mailers to electronically transmit documents, correspondence, newsletters and other First-Class mail and Standard-A mail, along with their mailing lists, to the USPS via its Web site.

“The postal service's goals are to provide convenient, high-value Internet-based services for our customers, as well as to reaffirm the relevancy of traditional, hard-copy mail,” said Deputy Postmaster General John Nolan. “We are once again working closely with private-sector companies to provide the types of products and services that meet the growing needs and demands of our customers and satisfy our corporate objectives at the same time.”

NetPost CardStore features:

• A selection of more than 2,000 custom images.

• The ability to use personal photographs or other artwork.

• The ability to write personalized greetings for individual or volume mailings.

•The ability to use existing address files.

• Custom-printed cards mailed the next business day.

Pricing for NetPost CardStore, ranging from $1.35 to $3 per card, is based on quantity, design and postage and includes custom personalization, printing and mailing services. While the primary focus is small and home-based businesses, personal greeting cards are available as well.
